End-of-Life Doulas (2/12/12): A New Model for Guiding Patients Through the End Process of Dying
Henry Fersko-Weiss, LCSW
2.12.12 (Webinar Recording: 2 hr 3 min, 21.5 MB)
End-of-Life Doulas are transforming the time when a person is actively dying into a sacred experience. Using guided visualization, meditation, light therapeutic touch, aromatherapy, legacy work, and rituals, EOL Doulas alleviate fear and deepen the meaning of the dying process. People are helped to face dying with truth and courage. This approach is deeply valuable at the bedside of the dying. Henry Fersko-Weiss has trained EOL Doulas at the New York Open Center for the last 4 years and has worked extensively with individuals and in hospices.
